No one knows for sure how Strawberry Cough came into existence, but it’s commonly believed to be a cross between Original Haze and an unknown Indica. THC content can vary between about 14 to 19% (but sometimes as high as 23%) – but it’s not always about the THC that makes a strain a great strain. In this case, one of the interesting things is that Strawberry Cough has one major terpene – Alpha-Pinene.
Pinene AKA Alpha-Pinene (α-Pinene)
As you might expect from the name, this terpene is found heavily in pine needles, and you may very well detect a strong scent of pine from your Strawberry Cough with the strawberry aroma being a whiff of sweetness after. Pinene is also found in basil, rosemary, dill, turpentine, parsley, and dill. Pinene is thought to be an anti-inflammatory terpene with pain relieving and anti-anxiety properties. α-pinene is an important terpenoid with anticancer properties against human ovarian cancer cell lines, hepatocellular liver carcinoma cell lines, and N2a neuroblastoma cells.
